1. Object and scope

These terms and conditions (hereinafter referred to as «T&Cs») apply to all services offered by playerOne (hereinafter referred to as «playerOne», «we», «us», or "our"), including virtual reality sessions, bookings, private hires, events (birthdays, stag/hen parties, corporate), vouchers/coupons, as well as the use of the website and contact forms.

By making a booking, a purchase (voucher, session), or by participating in a session, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions.

2. Benefits and Procedures

PlayerOne offers arena-based VR experiences, supervised by staff. Unless otherwise stated, services include:

  • the welcome and preparation of the group,
  • A safety briefing and handover,
  • the provision of VR equipment,
  • access to the arena during the reserved slot,
  • on-site support according to the chosen format.

The total duration of a slot generally includes the welcome, briefing, setup, and actual playing time. Times may vary depending on group size and safety requirements.

3. Eligibility, age and abilities

  • Minimum age from 10 years old (unless otherwise indicated for certain modes/games).
  • Minors A minor must be accompanied by a responsible adult or have authorisation from a legal representative. The responsible person ensures supervision and compliance with instructions.
  • State of health VR can cause discomfort, nausea, dizziness, or fatigue. Participation is not recommended for those with heart conditions, epilepsy/photosensitivity, severe balance disorders, injuries limiting movement, high-risk pregnancies, or any condition incompatible with moderate exertion or head-worn equipment. If in doubt, consult a healthcare professional before participating.
  • Consumption Participation under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that impairs alertness may be refused.

4. Safety rules and behaviour

To ensure a safe experience, participants agree to:

  • Follow staff instructions before, during and after the session.,
  • use the material in accordance with the instructions,
  • to adopt respectful behaviour towards other participants and staff,
  • avoid any dangerous behaviour (excessive running, physical contact, abrupt gestures directed at others, unauthorised attempts to remove equipment, etc.).

playerOne reserves the right to interrupt a session or exclude a participant in case of non-compliance with instructions, inappropriate behaviour, or safety risks. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

5. Reservations, availability and confirmation

Bookings can be made via the online booking system, by email, by telephone, or in person subject to availability. A booking is considered confirmed after validation (and, if applicable, payment or deposit).

We reserve the right to offer a reasonable adjustment (game/mode/schedule) based on technical, safety, or maintenance constraints.

6. Prices

The prices shown are in Swiss Francs (CHF), with VAT included or excluded as applicable. Rates may vary depending on the day, format, number of participants, or current promotional offers.

Special offers cannot be combined unless explicitly stated.

7. Payment

Payment may be required before the start of the session (online or in person) or as a deposit for certain events (groups, private hire, corporate). Payment methods available are indicated during booking or on-site.

In case of non-payment, playerOne may refuse access to the session or cancel the booking.

8. Delay, no-show and playtime

We recommend arriving approximately 10 minutes before your reservation time. In the event of a delay:

  • The effective playing time may be reduced to meet the schedule.,
  • No financial compensation is due in the event of a delay-related reduction.

In the event of a no-show without timely cancellation, the service will be considered due, and no refund is guaranteed.

9. Cancellation, postponement and refunds

Unless otherwise specified for a specific event:

  • Standard cancellation / postponement: possible up to 24 hours before the session. Beyond that, the service may be charged in full.
  • Groups / companies / privatisations: Specific conditions (deadlines, deposit, final number) may apply and will be communicated during the quote/confirmation.

Refunds, where granted, may be made via the original payment method or as a credit note, as applicable.

10. Number of participants and group composition

The number of participants may be limited depending on the game/mode. If a minimum number of players is required, it will be indicated on the website. If the minimum is not reached:

  • we can offer an alternative (different game/mode),
  • We can offer a postponement, subject to availability.

For groups, we recommend confirming the final number in advance to ensure the organisation and smooth running of the session.

11. Gift vouchers, coupons and offers

Gift vouchers (if offered) are:

  • usable under the indicated terms (value, duration, conditions),
  • non-exchangeable for cash (unless legally required),
  • subject to availability at time of booking.

Promotions may be time-limited and subject to conditions.

12. Equipment, damage and participant liability

VR equipment is fragile and expensive. Participants must take care of it. In the event of wilful damage, gross negligence, or clear disregard for instructions, playerOne reserves the right to seek compensation to the extent permitted by law.

13. Personal effects

Personal belongings (phones, bags, glasses, jewellery, etc.) remain the responsibility of participants. We recommend securing or depositing items before playing. To the extent permitted by law, playerOne accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage.

14. Photos, videos and the right to one's image

During events, photos/videos may be taken for keepsake or communication purposes. Any use for marketing purposes (website, social media) will only be done with consent or according to a consent procedure indicated on-site. You can object to any recording by informing the staff.

15. Intellectual Property

The website, texts, visuals, logos, and the playerOne brand identity are protected. Any reproduction, modification, or reuse without written permission is prohibited.

16. Unavailability, force majeure and maintenance

Interruptions may occur (maintenance, failure, network issue, security constraint). In the event of a total impossibility to provide the service, we offer, depending on the case, a postponement or a refund. No additional compensation is due.

Cases of force majeure include: unforeseeable events beyond our control (major external failures, disasters, administrative decisions, etc.).

17. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy available on the website.

18. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These T&Cs are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is in the canton of Fribourg, subject to mandatory jurisdictions.
